João
Carlos Ramos,
also named "João da Dança" (João of dance), discovered his
passion for dancing in the local ballrooms of Rio when he was still
a teen-ager. Since the first steps he knew that had much to learn and
achieve. In 1982 Joao Carlos started his professional training with
Graciela Figueroa, Michel Rubin, Regina Vaz and Debora Growald. He studied
harmonic gymnastic with Carlos Afonso and choreography with Regina Miranda
e Gilberto Motta. Two years later he received his first artistic recognition
at the Contemporary Choreographer Show and thereafter started his own
company "Companhia Aerea de Dança" which has since then obtained
major national recognitions and has presented shows such as" O
Bolero", "Bandoneon", and "Mistura e Manda".
